Blanka Vlašić won the Diamond League meeting in Glasgow, which is her second win this year. Our best high jump athlete won the first place by clearing 196 cm in the third attempt, leaving Inika McPherson from USA with the second and Ana Šimić with the third place, due to a result of 193 cm.
Blanka also had three missed attempts to jump 201 cm, this year’s best world result.
“I’m satisfied with the Diamond League win, that is always a great result. Especially because I now hold the first place in the overall standings. As regards the result, clearing 196 was excellent, everything really came into place, while at 201 cm I lacked some sharpness,” said Blanka after the new win.
With this win, Blanka rose above Ana Šimić and Mariya Kuchina in the overall standings of the Diamond League and now, with 10 points, holds the leading position by herself.
The new competition in Blanka’s schedule is the Sainsbury’s Anniversary Games meeting in London, on 20th July.
