Blanka Vlašić decided to solve her problems with her right Achilles tendon with surgery.
„After my appearance at the high jump meeting in Split, doctors recommended surgery to solve the issue with my Achilles tendon and Haglund’s deformity, which has been bothering me for two years. To have as much time for the preparations for the Olympic Games as possible, I was on the operating table on Wednesday already. The surgery was performed by Dr. Janne Sarimo in Turku, Finland.
The surgery went well, the doctor is very satisfied, and I am happy that the part of the bone, which has been irritating the Achilles tendon, has been removed. Now the next step is rehabilitation and then I hope we will have enough time for me to perform up to my potential this summer“, Blanka said a day after surgery.
